The In-Service Trainee: Manufacturing Planning program provides an excellent opportunity for young South Africans to gain valuable workplace experience while completing their studies. This 12-month contract, registered with the FoodBev SETA, is designed to expose trainees to the planning and coordination processes that drive manufacturing operations. Participants will learn how to align production schedules with demand forecasts, optimize resources, and support efficiency improvements across the supply chain. The program emphasizes practical learning, professional growth, and the development of skills that are essential for future careers in manufacturing and planning.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and monitoring manufacturing plans and schedules
• Support the coordination of production activities to meet demand requirements
• Gather and analyze data to improve resource allocation and efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery
• Document and report on planning activities as required by supervisors
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment

Qualifications

• South African citizen aged between 18 and 35
• Grade 12 with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy passed at a minimum of 40%
• Proficiency in English and at least one other South African language at 40%
• Currently studying towards a relevant qualification in manufacturing, industrial engineering, supply chain, or related field
• Unemployed and not previously completed the same qualification or learnership at another company
• Candidates who meet Employment Equity guidelines are preferred
